Why Relish?

High quality fully matured Sugarcane

Sugarcane takes at least a minimum of 10 months to attain maturity which will give its by-products sweet taste. But due to commercialization and manpower power issues most sugarcane is cut pre-maturely. This results in loss of taste and reduction in production quantity (fully matured sugarcane yields about 110 kg of jaggery whereas a pre matured sugarcane yields only about 90kg). Hence farmers are forced to adulterate in order to increase the production quantity to meet their demands. Relish is produced using fully matured sugarcane grown along the banks of rivers and in the foothills of mountains.

Chemical Free

Relish is produced using the most natural way with no chemicals added except calcium carbonate during any stage of production. Calcium carbonate (sunnambu in Tamil) is needed to remove the impurities during jaggery production. Calcium carbonate itself has various health benefits.

Delicious Taste

Relish has a real delicious flavor with no traces of mud or salt. Also it doesn’t cause irritation in throat even when taken raw in more quantities. Most of the products in the market are salty and cause irritation in throat even when taken in small quantities.

Applications

Relish’s minimal percentage of moisture, makes it free flowing to use it an alternative for white sugar in making Healthy sweets as well as for daily consumption including tea, coffee as rich and healthy sweetener.

Filtration Process

An important aspect about Relish Jaggery powder in addition to its taste is its filtration of sugar lumps (small stone like particles) which is usual in other brands. The filtration process gives it a sugar-like effect keeping its properties intact and hence can be used in many applications as an alternative for sugar.

Shelf Life

When stored properly in a silver or aluminum container it can last more than 6 months. When kept in plastic cover it can last 4 months. It’s advisable to store it in silver or aluminum containers.

Differentiation with other products

The addition of adulterants is visible in many brands by the change in nature of the product including its taste and smell in just after a few weeks (it changes from powder to semi solid form tasting very salty with a bad odor) but Relish is a guaranteed product which doesn’t change its taste, smell and form for at least 6 months. When stored in suitable conditions.

Where is it produced?

Our production unit is in Samarayapattinear Palani and Athani near Gobichettipalayam, with the complete production process under our control.

Note : Do not add Jaggery powder in milk when it’s boiling. It will spoil the milk. Add jaggery powder when it is not boiling. For black tea, coffee, and other applications where milk is not involved it can be added directly even when it’s boiling.
